IBIX designs and builds websites for businesses in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and across North East Lincolnshire. A one-page site is £650, a four-page starter site £1,200 and a ten-page business site £2,800 — and every page is written for you, with the domain and the first year's hosting inside that price. Most builds go live two to four weeks after we've agreed the content. Every site is hand-written rather than assembled from a template — and the domain, the hosting and the files are yours.

Prices

What A Website Costs Here

The Honest Bit

You've Seen Cheaper. Here's The Difference.

Advertised prices from web designers around Grimsby, checked in July 2026, start at about £549 for a one-off build and about £50 a month on a twelve-month minimum term. Ours start at £650, and a four-page site is £1,200. There is still a gap, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a sales line.

01

Who owns it when you stop paying?

This is the question that matters most and gets asked least. On a monthly plan, ask in writing whether the domain, the hosting account and the site files are in your name — and what happens to the site if you cancel.

With us they're always yours. The domain and hosting are registered in your name, you get the files, and there is no minimum term to walk away from.

02

What is it actually built on?

Ask what the site runs on, and ask to see three other sites the same builder has made. If they all look alike, you're buying a theme with your logo dropped into it — which is a perfectly legitimate product, just not a distinctive one.

We write the HTML and CSS by hand for every page, so the site loads only the code it actually uses, and nothing is locked behind a theme or a plugin licence.

03

Is the SEO in the price or on the next invoice?

"SEO-ready" often just means nobody blocked Google. Ask specifically: who writes the page titles, are meta descriptions written per page, is there structured data, and is the site submitted and indexed on launch day?

On our Business tier and above, all of that is part of the build, not an upsell. Ongoing SEO work is a separate, optional service — and we'll tell you if you don't need it yet.

04

How fast is it on a phone — measured?

Most people will meet your business on a phone, on mobile data, in a car park. We build to Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds — largest contentful paint under 2.5 seconds, interaction to next paint under 200ms, cumulative layout shift under 0.1 — and check them on real-visitor field data after launch, not just a lab score on a fast laptop.

05

Who writes the words?

We do, and it's already in the price at every tier. One phone call, and we write the pages from what you tell us — because the words that sell your business are already in your head, not in a stock paragraph about "bespoke solutions". If you'd rather write them yourself you still can, and the price doesn't change.

Worth knowing what you're comparing: of the local web-design packages we checked in July 2026, not one listed the copywriting as included. Copy is the thing that stalls a website, so we stopped charging separately for it.

06

And when cheap is the right answer

If you need one page so customers can find your number and opening hours, and you're not trying to be found for anything competitive, a £549 site or a monthly plan will do that job — and we'll say so rather than sell you something bigger. Our own answer to that brief is the £650 one-page site above, written and owned outright.

What £1,200 buys instead is a site built to be found, built to be kept, and built so the next agency can pick it up without starting again.

On the arithmetic: a £50-a-month plan on a twelve-month minimum is £600 in the first year and £1,800 over three — so the difference is usually smaller than it first looks, and the question of who owns the site at the end of it is usually bigger.

One thing worth checking on any quote you get: whether VAT is included. "£1,500 + VAT" is £1,800 to pay. If your business isn't VAT registered you can't claim that back, so compare the totals rather than the headlines.

Ownership

What You Own When We're Done

Every account is created in your name with IBIX given access — never the other way round.

Optional, and only if you need it

  • £75/month — care plan: hosting, edits and updates. Monthly, cancel any time.
  • £550 one-off — SEO setup after launch. Ongoing SEO in Grimsby from £500/month.
  • £900 — a full Arabic version, a real right-to-left mirror.
  • £120 — each extra page beyond your tier, written and built.

None of that is required, and the care plan has no minimum term — several of the local plans we checked in July 2026 run to a six or twelve-month commitment, so it is worth asking. After the first year the domain and hosting renew in your name: pay them direct, or leave them to us on the care plan.

Process

How A Build Actually Runs

Five steps. You approve the price before anything starts, and you see it before it goes live.

Step 01 · about a day

Call and fixed price

We look at what you've got now and what you're competing with, then send a written scope and one fixed price. No hourly billing, no "discovery phase" invoice. 50% to begin, 50% before the site goes live.

Step 02 · one call

Structure and words

We agree the page list, then talk you through it once and write the pages from what you say — you don't get sent a blank document. We still need your photos, logo and service details, and that's now the step that decides your timeline.

Step 03 · 1–6 weeks

Design and build

A one-page site is about a week, four-page starter sites typically about two, ten-page business sites three to four, and 15+ page builds four to six — measured from the day your details land, not from the deposit. Two rounds of revisions are included from Starter up, one on the one-page site.

Step 04 · launch day

Live, indexed, tracked

Domain, hosting, SSL, sitemap, Google Search Console, indexing request and analytics — all done on the day, so the site is findable rather than merely published.

Step 05 · after

Yours to run, or ours to look after

Take the files and run it yourself, or keep us on the £75-a-month care plan for hosting, edits and updates. Both are real options; neither is a lock-in.

Step 06 · optional

Then get it found

A new site is not automatically a visible one. If you want to compete for searches, that's SEO in Grimsby — a separate service with its own timeline, and we'd rather tell you that than pretend a build is a ranking.

Local

Why Being From Here Changes The Brief

IBIX is Lyco Sphere Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17155358, and run from Grimsby. If you want to sit across a table from the person actually building your website, that's a short drive — not a video call with an account manager two counties away.

That matters more than it sounds, because businesses here don't all sell the same way. A food or seafood processor out on Europarc or the Great Grimsby estates is selling to buyers and procurement teams who check accreditations, capacity and audit standards long before anyone picks up a phone — so certifications, plant capability and compliance belong on the page, not behind a contact form. An engineering, marine or offshore-wind services supplier working the Humber and the Immingham side is selling on approvals and turnaround time, and usually needs somewhere credible to point a tender response. A Cleethorpes guest house, café or seafront business is selling to somebody standing on the prom with one bar of signal, which makes load speed and a two-tap booking the whole job. And a joiner, electrician or plumber covering Grimsby, Waltham, Healing and Laceby is usually selling to whoever answers first — click-to-call at the top, and a Google Business Profile that shows up in the map pack.

We work across Scunthorpe, Louth, Lincoln and the wider Lincolnshire area from here as well. What we deliberately won't do is publish a separate page for each town with the name swapped over — it's the same service wherever you are, so it gets one honest page instead of a grid of near-identical ones. If your search is town-specific, the SEO pages go deeper into how local search works in each of them.

The Work

Two Sites We Can Show You

Both are live, both are ours, and neither is local — so here's the honest version rather than a page of stock mock-ups.

Straight answer on the gap: we have not yet published a UK website case study. The two above are international, and pretending otherwise would be the first dishonest thing on this page. When a Lincolnshire client agrees to be named, their build goes here with real numbers and their permission — until then, the two sites above are live and you can judge them yourself.

Common Questions

Web Design, Answered

How much does a website cost in Grimsby?

Ours are £650 for a one-page site, £1,200 for a four-page starter site, £2,800 for a ten-page business site and £4,800 for a 15-plus-page build — one-off prices, not monthly. Every page is written for you and the domain and first year's hosting are inside the price, so those are the totals. Extra pages beyond your tier are £120 each, written and built.

Locally you will also see builds advertised from around £549, and monthly plans from around £50 a month on a twelve-month term (prices checked July 2026). The difference is what sits inside the build — hand-written code rather than a theme, the words written for you, on-page SEO included from the Business tier up, and ownership of the domain, hosting and files.

How long does it take to build a website?

Two to four weeks for most sites, measured from the day your details reach us rather than from the deposit. A one-page site is about a week, a four-page starter site typically around two weeks, a ten-page business site three to four, and a 15-plus-page build four to six.

The build is rarely the bottleneck, and neither is the writing any more — we do that from one call, in the price. What still adds time is photos, a service list and the details only you know, which is why we ask for those up front.

Do I own the website, or are you renting it to me?

You own it. The domain and the hosting account are registered in your name, the site files are handed over on request, and there is no minimum term — the care plan is monthly and you can stop it whenever you like without the site going dark.

Worth checking with anyone you speak to, not just us: on some low-monthly plans the website stops when the payments stop, because you were renting it rather than buying it. Ask for the answer in writing either way.

What happens after the site goes live?

Nothing breaks if you do nothing. It's a static, hand-built site — there's no plugin stack quietly going out of date behind it. The first year's hosting and your domain are inside the build price; after that they renew in your name, and you can pay the registrar and host direct or leave them to us.

If you'd rather not touch it, the care plan is £75 a month and covers hosting, edits and updates. If you'd rather run it yourself, take the files — that option is real, and we won't make it awkward.

Do I get email addresses on my own domain?

Yes — forwarding, set up for you, at no extra cost. We can point info@, sales@, your name@ or anything else on your domain straight into an inbox you already use, whether that's Gmail, Outlook or whatever you're on now. There's no limit worth worrying about and nothing to pay for it.

The honest limit: that's forwarding, not a new mailbox. Mail arrives in your existing inbox, and when you reply it goes out from your existing address rather than from info@yourbusiness.co.uk. If you want to send as well as receive from your own domain, that's a proper mailbox — Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, a few pounds per person per month, paid direct to them. We'll set it up and connect it; the subscription is yours, not ours.

Do you do SEO as well as web design?

Yes — and some of it is already in the build. From the Business tier up, page titles, meta descriptions, headings, structured data, the sitemap and Google indexing are part of the website price, not a separate invoice.

Ongoing SEO is a different job with a different timeline: setup is £550 one-off and retainers start at £500 a month. There's a full explanation on our SEO in Grimsby page, a plain-English breakdown of what SEO costs in the UK, and the local map-pack side is covered under Google Business Profile management. Nobody can promise you a position on Google, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

Can you redo my existing website instead of starting from scratch?

Often, yes — and sometimes we'll tell you not to. If your current site is on a platform that's doing the job, a rebuild has to earn its place; we'd rather fix the pages that are underperforming than sell you a project you don't need.

Where a rebuild is right, we map every existing address to its replacement and redirect it permanently, so Google follows your old pages to the new ones instead of hitting dead ends, and anything you've already earned isn't thrown in a skip. If the site is only a couple of years old, send us the link before you assume it needs replacing — that's a free answer.
